The Adriatic Sturgeon is a critically endangered large fish species found in the Adriatic Sea. The population of Adriatic Sturgeon has drastically declined due to overfishing, habitat degradation, and dam construction, which obstructs their migration routes. The estimated remaining population is very low, with fewer than 100 individuals remaining. Conservation efforts include regulating fishing practices, habitat restoration, and captive breeding programs.
