The Honduran Worm Salamander is a small, slender-bodied salamander measuring approximately 8–10 cm (3.1–3.9 inches) in length. Its body is adapted for a life mostly within leaf litter or under logs in humid cloud forests. B. copinhorum is characterized by a mottled dark brown and black coloration that helps it blend into the forest floor. Like other members of its genus, this salamander lacks lungs and breathes through its skin, making it highly sensitive to environmental changes. It feeds on small invertebrates such as insects, worms, and spiders. Endemic to high-altitude forests in Honduras, it is often found in moist environments with dense leaf litter, which provides protection and foraging opportunities.
