The Aberdare Cisticola is a small, elusive bird species endemic to the high-altitude grasslands of the Aberdare Range in Kenya. Adults measure around 4.7 inches (12 cm) in length and have a reddish-brown crown, pale underparts, and streaked upperparts. The species is known for its sharp, distinctive calls, which it uses to communicate in dense grasslands. This small bird is an insectivore, feeding mainly on grasshoppers, beetles, and other small invertebrates. It nests in grass tufts, making it highly dependent on the availability of suitable grassland habitat for breeding and foraging. As its habitat is limited to a few areas in the Aberdare Mountains, habitat degradation poses a serious threat to the species' survival.
