The Eleutherodactylus geitonos is a small frog species, adapted to the cloud forests of the Cordillera Central in the Dominican Republic. Its colorations help it blend into the leaf litter on the forest floor, where it is frequently found. It inhabits mesophilous cloud forests, particularly in areas with patches of Prestoea acuminata (montane palm) forests known as "manaclares." This frog is often observed in grass strata, leaf litter, and ferns, as well as on the ground and among dense vegetation. It requires canopy cover and a humid microclimate, making it sensitive to any significant changes in its habitat.
