The Ethiopian Wolf (Canis simensis) is a charismatic and endangered carnivore found only in the Ethiopian highlands. The estimated remaining population of Ethiopian wolves is around 200 individuals. The primary threats to this species include habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation due to agriculture, livestock grazing, and human settlement. Additionally, diseases transmitted by domestic dogs, such as rabies and canine distemper, pose a severe risk to their survival.
