The African Forest Elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis) is one of two species of elephants found in Africa, distinguished by its smaller size and preference for forest habitats of Central and West Africa. Unfortunately, this species faces threats such as habitat loss, illegal poaching for ivory, and human-wildlife conflicts. Deforestation, fragmentation of their habitat, and increased demand for ivory contribute to their declining population, putting them in high risk of extinction.
