The Persian Leopard (Panthera pardus tulliana), also known as Anatolian leopard and Caucasian leopard, is an endangered leopard subspecies native to the Anatolian region of the Iranian Plateau and surrounding areas. The population size of Anatolian Leopards is unknown, but it is believed to be extremely low, possibly fewer than 600 individuals. Habitat loss, illegal hunting, and range fragmentation are the primary threats to their survival. Conservation efforts involve protected area management, anti-poaching measures, and research to better understand their population and habitat needs.
