The Grey-shanked Douc Langur is a striking primate with a light grey body, pale underside, and distinctive white markings on the shoulders, thighs, and rump. Its face is brownish-orange with a white chin and throat, bordered by an orange-brown collar. The hands and feet are black, and the lower legs are dark grey. Males are slightly larger than females, averaging 10.9 kg, compared to 8.2 kg for females. These langurs are diurnal and arboreal, primarily feeding on young leaves, fruits, seeds, and flowers. They live in social groups ranging from 4 to 15 individuals, with males typically being dominant. Communication includes vocalizations like growls and twitters, as well as facial expressions and physical interactions.
