The Saint Lucia Amazon (Amazona versicolor), is a species of parrot endemic to the Caribbean island of Saint Lucia. It was once near extinction, but conservation action may have saved this species. Population numbers are now believed to be increasing and there is some evidence of a small range expansion. Despite this, however, the population remains small and at significant risk. The primary threats to the Saint Lucia Amazon are habitat loss due to deforestation, hurricane damage, and the illegal pet trade.
