The Spanish Imperial Eagle (Aquila adalberti) is a bird of prey endemic to the Iberian peninsula. It has a small population of around 550 breeding pairs. Habitat loss, fragmentation, and degradation, as well as illegal poisoning and electrocution from power lines, are the primary threats to their survival. Conservation efforts involve habitat protection, reintroduction programs, and addressing the causes of mortality.
