The population size of Taiwanese Humpback Dolphins is estimated to be less than 100 individuals, making it one of the most endangered dolphin populations in the world. The main threats to the Taiwanese Humpback Dolphin include habitat loss, degradation, and fragmentation due to coastal development, pollution, underwater noise pollution, and fishing activities.
