The Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis (ACM) is on a mission to lead effective bird conservation locally, engage the diverse community in bird-related activities, and support programs that foster safe and healthy spaces for birds and enthusiasts alike. Dating back to January 1915, when Ernest Harold Baynes addressed the Minneapolis Woman's Club on attracting winter birds, the roots of ACM trace through the formation of the Minneapolis Bird Club in 1920, eventually affiliating with the National Audubon Society. Over the years, the club underwent transformations, becoming the Audubon Chapter of Minneapolis in 1975. Although the Minneapolis Audubon Society diverged from the National Audubon Society, ACM maintains its commitment to conservation with affiliations at the Minnesota and national levels.
