The Sunda Pangolin (Manis javanica) is a small, scaly, and endangered mammal native to Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive scaled body and its role as an insectivore, primarily feeding on ants and termites. It is considered the most trafficked mammal in the world. The estimated remaining population is uncertain but believed to be rapidly decreasing. Poaching for their scales, which are used in traditional medicine, as well as habitat loss and illegal trade, pose significant threats to their survival.
